Behind the study

A closed curve begins as a gently irregular ring. Nearby points repel each other, connected neighbours pull together, and new points are inserted as the line stretches. The competition produces folds without prescribing their shape. Faint traces preserve twenty earlier states, while three red sections travel around the growing boundary. A soft enclosure and a fixed point budget keep the system bounded.
