Behind the study

A Clifford attractor turns each point into the starting position of the next. A slowly changing coefficient continually reshapes the orbit into folds, openings, and fine seams. Brightness records how often the orbit visits each place. Three brief exposures leave a soft wake behind the moving structure, while tapered red pulses follow curves derived from the map’s own folding geometry. Their bright heads and fading tails make the direction of travel visible. Each variation explores a different family of forms.

Try a new variation to start with a different map. Pause at any point to look closer.
